The Hawks championship season has gone noticed by many throughout New England and now the
news has spread a bit further. One of the fathers of the Double Wing offense, Hugh Wyatt,
has added to Hawks to his list of top Double Wing teams in the country. You can check it out

and see the other teams that have brought home titles running the offense.

A first half fumble proved to be the difference as the Hawks dropped a heartbreaker to the
Blue Hills Warriors. After scoring with under three minutes to play in the first half, the Warriors
would opt to go for two and decided to run the toss to the left. Matt Standbury proceeded to
drop the pitch amid a sea of white jerseys. It looked as if the Hawks would hold, but
Standbury reversed direction and outraced the Southeastern defense to the right pylon.
The Hawks offense would bring the team to within two points after a 24-yard by Gary Monteiro
in the 4th quarter. The try on the two point conversion would fall short and the Warriors
recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the game.

Regardless of the outcome, the Southeastern Hawks still have one more game to play as they
travel to
Chelsea High School to take on the Hyde Park Blue Stars for the Division 4 State Championship.
With the their 19-7 victory over the West Bridgewater Wildcats, the Hawks have claimed
sole possession of the Mayflower League Division II title. Up next for the Hawks is their annual
Turkey Day bash with Mayflower League Division I champs the Blue Hills Warriors. Then the
Hawks will travel to Chelsea High School on December 3rd for their showdown with the Hyde
Park Blue Stars for the Division 4 State Championship, the first Super Bowl in school history.
Kickoff time will be announced later this week. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for
students.
The Hawks made in four straight as they dismantled the Old Colony Cougars 45-14 on
Saturday. The Southeastern offense churned out over 300 yards rushing for the third time
in four weeks, gaining 324 yards on 34 carries against a bewildered Old Colony defense.
Since being shutout in their first two games the Hawks offense has gone on a tear, averaging
just under 26 points per game over the last seven weeks.
The Hawks offense churned out 250 yards rushing and the defense made a late
stand to hold off the Tri-County Cougars this past Saturday. Coupled with West
Bridgewater's loss to Holbrook-Avon this past Saturday, the Hawks can take at least
a share of the league title with a victory over a tough Old Colony squad.
The Hawks winning streak has reached two games, as the offense rushed for over 300
yards for the second week in a row. A dozen different backs combined for 356 rushing yards
on just 31 carries. The varsity put the game away early as they jumped to an early 28-0 lead
going during the first quarter. The junior varsity played the majority of the game from then
on as the Hawks cruised to a convincing 47-0 victory over St. Clement. The Hawks look to
make it three in a row and go to 2-0 in league play as they travel to Franklin next Saturday at
11:00 A.M. to take on the Tri-County Cougars.
A congratulations to the Hawks offensive line for being named Players of the Week in both
the Boston Globe and Boston Herald for their outstanding effort against the
Holbrook-Avon Bulldogs. The Southeastern offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage as
the Hawks gained a season high 348 yard rushing on 39 carries. Two backs, Ben George and
Gary Monteiro both rushed for over 100 yards and two touchdowns each. Joe Veiga was not
far behind as he rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown on the day.
The Southeastern Hawks opened league play with an impressive 34-12 victory over the
Holbrook-Avon Bulldogs. The Hawks entered the game with a disappointing 0-4-1 record, but
all four of the losses have come to teams with combined records of 19-5, including undefeated
Mayflower League Division I leading Bristol-Plymouth. Bristol-Plymouth has been lead this season by
running back Jeremie Chumack, who has rushed for 1177 yards and 16 touchdowns this
season. Chumack has rushed for over 200 yards and scored at least one touchdown in every
game this season except for one. Chumack was held to 74 yards and no touchdowns versus
the Hawks earlier this season.
After a tough opening half of the season, the Hawks finally enter league play in hopes of
claiming their first Mayflower League title. The team has relied on strong defense through
the first half of the season as the offense has taken time to gel. After failing to reach the
endzone in the first two weeks of the season, the Hawks offense has finally begun to show
signs of life and is improving steadily as league play begins. In week three of the season,
the offense not only came to life but nearly pulled off what many would have considered to
be the upset of the year. A missed rush for the conversion was all that separated the Hawks
from knocking off the South Shore Vikings, as they dropped a 20-19 decision. The Vikings
are coming off consecutive Super Bowl Championships in 2002 and 2003 and were runner-ups
in 2001.
